MATCHING FUNDS
Matching Funds Grant Information
 |
| Fair racing at Sandwich, IL. |
The Matching Funds Grant (MFG) is sponsored by the USTA and awards $10,000 per year to individual county fairs, horsemen's associations and colt circuits to support a marketing program promoting harness racing on the county fair level. Started in 2006, this grant awards up to $500 per applicant, with groups securing or providing equal or greater matching funds. The USTA looks for originality, feasibility and financial need when reviewing the grant application.
Counties may combine to acquire resources, such as displays or equipment that would not be feasible to purchase or develop on an individual county basis. For multiple county and/or circuit applications, one group must be identified as the "Lead Group" for administration of funds and reporting.
